Individual liberty may not be the oldest of human concepts but it is perhaps the most important. It is uniquely a product of Western civilization and specifically the ancient Greeks. The growth of liberty has been slow, requiring an unending conflict against the political and power structures of every age. It has survived and evolved due to the efforts of people in numerous societies and countries who were willing to employ the light of reason against those who sought power and control over all humanity.
The ideas of liberty and classical liberalism are the cornerstones of the great rights charters of history, beginning with the Coronation Charter of King Henry I in 1100 A.D. and including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States with its Bill of Rights.
Today, the concepts of classical liberalism lie forgotten by most people in the United States. The words 'liberty' and 'freedom' have become meaningless verbage used as cloaks by politicians and the beneficiaries of unlimited Government to cover their true intentions. In examining Government and the State today, it may be valid to say that Liberty has never been so at risk. Never since the age of absolute monarchs has the individual faced such absolute control over their Life, Liberty and Property.
The purpose of this site is two-fold. The first is education, to hold up to the light of reason the actions of Government, the State, and the Church and expose those actions which violate Liberty, Natural Law and Justice. In doing so the logical and philosophical basis for Liberty will be revealed to those who may be unfamiliar with its origins.
The second purpose, and the purpose which inspired the name of this site and organization, is to propose a new set of actions and ideas to restore the Liberty and Freedoms which have been stolen over the last two hundred years. Most of these concepts are still in the early stages of development; however, it can be said their common principle is allowing the individual direct control over the actions of Government and replacing the State apparatus with voluntary social interaction.
This is "The 2nd American Revolution."
